Last week’s Author Showcase went really well. Selling books is always a good thing. Particularly since I’m donating 50% of royalties to domestic violence shelters. The National Network to End Domestic Violence has joined forces with me to promote the books. Southern Writers Magazine donated a half-page ad for me.
Special guest Robyn Carr gave a wonderful interview during the Showcase. Especially interesting is her take on publicity and marketing. Asked if social media plays a large part, she responded by suggesting it makes a good base platform. Purchasing advertisements may add a bit of a bump. Reviews on both Amazon and Goodreads will be a big help. However, the best publicity is word of mouth. There you have it – straight from a best selling author.
So, hear my plea: If you’ve read any of the Deadheads, put a review up on Amazon, and Goodreads. If you liked the novels, tell your friends and relatives, and encourage them to buy and read the books. If they like them, encourage them to tell their friends.
Tomorrow I’ll be involved with A Novel Event, a champagne brunch held by the Kiwanis Club of Neon Lights, at the Las Vegas Country Club. It’s a charity event to benefit a Vegas PBS children’s literacy program. If you’re in Las Vegas, come join us from 10:45 am until 1:00 pm for some delightful discussion.
